🎄 Is As Above So Below Good
So they push it down, slide it over, and crawl through and emerge onto the streets of Paris. They hug and walk away and then it cuts to some interview footage from the beginning of the movie. It doesn't allude to them emerging into an alternate or hellish alternate dimension to the real world or even suggest it at all, but that is the feeling IThe Descent is awesome. As Above So Below is my favorite horror movie for sure. If you liked As Above So Below, checkout Grave Encounters 1 & 2. Has a very similar feel to me. Yes agree. I loved grave encounters. Perfect example of a similar movie. Part 2 is fair but part 1 is amazing. I watch them often.

The crowns shouldn't be different -- the only difference is that the Christian cross is missing from the lower crown. In the infernal pyramid of the original there is a crescent moon. There's no reference in the original to the four elements, because the Microcosm reflects the Macrocosm -- all four are above and all four are also below.A journey into madness and terror, As Above, So Below reaches deep into the human psyche to reveal the personal demons that come back to haunt us all. Written by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle (Quarantine, Devil) and directed by John Erick Dowdle, the psychological thriller is produced by Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Patrick Aiello and Drew Dowdle. The term “as above, so below” comes from the Emerald Tablets. It is sometimes part of a broader saying “as above, so below, as within, so without” made brief from ideas taken from the Emerald tablets. The Emerald tablets are a collection of ancient stories, ideas and philosophies. The Emerald Tablets have been translated so many times
The full saying is As above, so below. As within, so without. It expresses our connections to the nstural/supernatural world as being a part of us, not something we must seek outside of us. And it looks at the commonalities. Take for instance the art of breathing.
"As Above, So Below" also admittedly borrows elements from Neil Marshall's "The Descent," but those who call this film a "found footage rip-off" are way off base. Both films take place underground, yes, and "As Above, So Below" does appear to borrow a couple of sequential elements from Marshall's film, but they are complete tonal opposites. The Navidson Record portion of the book reads like a found footage film. The book can be a bit of a beast on the first read through, but it has that As Above, So Below feel. House of Leaves is one of my favourites, particularly for the Navidson Record portions. So, the good that is "up there" manifests as evil "down there". The principle of as above so below can be applied to emotion or states of mind but it is not best applied to emotions and states of mind for they are quite fluid throughout reality. However, as above so below is better applied to "rules" as in the mechanisms of reality. .
